Cherry Valley is a town of approximately 700 located in the Northern portion of Cross County. Established as an incorporated city in 1947, Cherry Valley got its name from a grove of cherry trees at the bottom of Mann Hill on Arkansas Highway 42.
Today, Cherry Valley thrives as an agricultural community full of citizens with a giving spirit.
Volunteers work each year on the "CherryFest" committee to organize an annual festival, held the last Saturday in September each year. More than just a group of concerned citizens focused on one event, the "CherryFest" committee works year-round on projects to help the city.
The Cross County School District is the heart of Cherry Valley, providing K-12 education for the children of the city as well as those in Vanndale and Hickory Ridge. The district has been blessed in recent years with quality leadership, which includes its superintendent Dr. Matt McClure. Approximately 625 students receive an education from the district, with each child having access to computers.
